IT'S NICE TO MEET YOU

I'm Rick Carlson

I am a follower of Jesus.  I am a husband, father and have many friends.  I am a retired pastor and a composer/ arranger of music.  My career path has taken my wife and I to many places where there was always new opportunities to learn, grow and make new friends. 

The first half of my career was centered in music and video production.  After graduating from Seattle Pacific University in music education, I realized that my heart was in writing and the production of music.  I eventually attended Grove School of Music in Studio City, CA where I studied under many entertainment professionals including Henry Mancini, Nelson Riddle and Michael Omartian. From there I started working professionally primarily in Christian music. 

One of my adventures was being part of the production of a children's video series called, "Quigely's Village."  I played the part of Mr. Quigley which was one of the great adventures of my life. 

The second half of my career was when I sensed God's call into pastoral ministry when I was in my 40s.  I graduated from Bethel Seminary in St. Paul, MN and served as a senior pastor for 26 year. 

Now that I'm retired as a pastor, I am pulling both halves of my career together by starting YouChurch.org.  I believe that there is a great need for an online Church for people.  As the vision for YouChurch grows, I believe people will be blessed and challenged to follow Jesus with their whole being.
